ISO 50001 Certified Professional


The training is presented by AEE in conjunction with the AEE Irish Chapter.

Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Level 8 engineering degree with one of the following: Chartered Engineer (C. Eng), Professional Engineering license AEE Certified Energy Manager certification, or EUREM Certificate
  • Level 8 degree in energy management, engineering, architecture, science or math
  • Level 8 degree
  • Other

Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

4-year or Level 6 European Qualifying Framework (EQF engineering/architectural degree* OR Current status of Certified Energy Manager (CEM®), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or EUREM Certificate 3+ years **related experience

2-year or Level 5 EQF associate degree* 5+ years **related experience
NONE 10+ years **related experience
*or equivalent degree
**Related experience in energy auditing and/or participating in a team doing energy assessments.

*Related experience:  Individuals attending this training and undertaking the certification examination will be expected to have a strong understanding in all aspects of energy management that would be typically encountered in a reasonably large commercial building.   Persons holding or having previously held CEM or CEA certification or similar could be reasonably expected to have the level of technical knowledge required.  Attendees will also be expected to have a reasonably strong understanding of the structure of ISO management standards and their application in organisations.  This is NOT intended as an introduction course to ISO 50001 or as an introduction to energy management.
